Maike specialises in research on and for the arts and cultural sector. Her experience over the last seven years spans the private and public sectors where she has provided evaluation and project solutions, training and organisational learning contributing to the development of arts, cultural and heritage organisations thorough research and practical insights. Her experience enables Maike to offer tailored guidance and support to projects with societal benefits at their core. As Research Manager at Earthen Lamp Maike manages the delivery of research projects across the company’s portfolio.
Maike holds a Masters degree with Distinction in International Cultural Policy and Management and a PhD in Cultural Policy Studies from the University of Warwick entailing a rich knowledge of cultural industries and practices. Her research focused on decision-making processes and participation in cultural policy making. Her research project explored interpretative methodologies in cultural policy research with a special focus on language and meaning in public policy making.
In the past Maike has gained valuable experience working as part of the Front of House team at Warwick Arts Centre, as student advisor for Freie University Berlin International Summer and Winter University and as administrator for Lesewelt Berlin e.V., a non-profit organisation that coordinates free reading session in public libraries.
